In my wife's Venza, the "Mode" button on the steering wheel says "Mode/Hold" with the audio mute symbol on it. When you press and hold it, it mutes the radio or pauses playback in other sources. On my 2013 GS, the same button only says "Mode" and so I always assumed that it only changed from one source to another (FM to BT to XM, etc.). But I tried holding it down just to see what would happen and voila! it works the same as in the Venza. I always hated having to use the mouse to pause playback or turn the volume all the way down to have a conversation. Now I have a simple pause/mute right on the steering wheel.

I didn't know this one. I had to go and try it out. This will help out my daughter. Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for two particular tips; the one about the whole sun visor sliding out, and the one about being able to pause/mute by holding the mode button. The mode button tip is awesome!!!

I noticed that many people who posted their car on a forum have their wipers at winter position and they stick up too high. You can fix it to push them down, so they will go lower in summer position. It will improve the look.

Map button displays current location
There are two buttons near the joy stick. "Menu" and "Map". I found that, when map is on (you see the map on the screen), if you press map button, it will display your current location.

What buttons control the rewind feature?? I tried to make this work on my 2013 with no success. Maybe the feature was not available then.

In all of these posts around favourite discovered feature, I am surprised that no mention has been made of the Speech Command system (which I only found after a year of owning the car).
Mine's a UK-spec 2014 F-Sport with ML audio but I cannot imagine that it is less-loaded than those sold in the US.
The Speech Command system operates from a single button on the right of the steering wheel. It instructs the navigation, cellphone and iPod devices. It does not need to learn vocal commands but offers choices and seeks confirmation - it is highly intuitive.
So, vocal commands like 'Enter an Address', 'Call the Wife' or 'Play Michael Buble' are instantly acted upon. In the last case it will line-up all the Buble tracks across albums on the iPod and play them sequentially.
How cool is that?

You can deactivate the key fob and leave it in the car when you go to the beach or participate in activities that may damage the key fob.
On the key fob, hold down lock button and press unlock button twice and wait for the light to flash 4x. Then lock the fob in the glovebox with the metal key, lock the car with the metal key, and take the metal key with you. Another option would be to use Enform Remote to lock/unlock the car, but still take the metal key with you to unlock the glovebox later. To reactivate the key fob, just press any button on the key fob. Make sure to do this discreetly and hide the fob in the glovebox from plain sight.
