2015 GS showing up on Lexus.com - GS450h F-Sport, Atomic Silver & HD Traffic/Weather
Lexus.com is now showing the 2015 Lexus GS. http://www.lexus.com/models/GS
As expected, Atomic Silver is now an option as a color - although Liquid Platinum is still there too - and also expected the GS450h now has an F-Sport option.
The one area that we weren't sure of was an Infotainment upgrade - that does seem to have occurred at least in the case of XM Traffic and Weather (subscription based) being replaced by HD Traffic and Weather which is completely free. http://www.lexus.com/models/GS/technology
LexusNavigation.com also confirms that the GS gets the Gen 8 Infotainment system which uses a MicroSD card instead of a HDD. I wonder if this means you can buy the MicroSD card online and pop it in for updated maps?
I would expect this also means that the 2015 gets natural language voice recognition for things like address input (say the entire address all at once and the navigation system will understand the address).
The remote touch pad seems to have been updated so it is indented instead of being pushed out.
Finally, Lexus Enform Remote for your phone allows you to start the engine, lock / unlock the doors, etc. (requires the Remote Start Option)
I like how Lexus continues to improve the GS each year instead of waiting for the mid-cycle refresh to incorporate all changes.

Atomic Silver isn't a replacement for Liquid Platinum, the IS has another silver also (although it doesn't have LP). Atomic Silver is very different.

Here is the product information for 2015 - anything in bold is new.
http://pressroom.toyota.com/releases...specs.download
Quick summary of what is New for 2015 -
- New 18x8 rims standard with 235/45R18 tires (for Premium model, F-Sport has the same rims)
- Support for Lexus Enform Remote (allows you to start/stop engine and HVAC remotely, remote door lock/unlock, Valet mode monitoring, vehicle finder, etc)
- Completely new (Gen 8) Infotainment system that supports "One shot" address input via voice, 3D Maps, Free HD Traffic & Weather updates, MID Data sharing - so NAV directions appear in the MID along with song information, etc - very nice!

There are some useful enhancements in the multimedia system/remote apps. As you note, it's new hardware, so to upgrade, you buy a new car... The GS should get the RTI with touchpad next year.
The other feature I have not yet confirmed are dynamic grid lines on the backup camera. This feature is in production for European GS models.
I almost waited for 2015 to get the tech upgrades, but I wanted the luxury package, which is not offered on the 2015 GSh. They are positioning the hybrid as more of a performance model.

Does the Enform Remote require a subscription? That's the one feature I'm jealous of the new car, but if I have to pay, then forget it.

Oh $200 a year?! I'll pass.

It's actually $80 a year. It's $139 for Safety Connect, or $219 for Safety Connect plus Enform Remote.

All this "$200 a year" crap adds up. You have Enform and remote for $220 a year, XM for $220 a year. If I added up all the things I pay $200 a year for it winds up being a lot of money. Have to draw the line someplace, hence why I never renew Enform.

Yea I don't wanna pay for something I never use. I never used Enform and XM sound quality is so bad that I don't think I'll renew it. And now they want me to pay to start my car, I think I'll pass. Better put the $200 towards the maintenance.

Right...if I use it I'll pay for it...I use enform maybe once for the wow factor and thats it. I have a similar Remote for our Jeep, used it maybe once or twice. Certainly not worth $20 a month.

Nope, no body changes.
