Leasing 101 Suggestions:

- Know your MSRP.
- Know the invoice price - This should be your goal.
- Any rebates etc should be in a separate "bucket" with the goal to go below the invoice price.
- $0 down payment (You wouldn't pre-pay your rent on an apartment)
- Multiple Security Deposits to buy down your Money Factor is okay.
Thanks for the quick response, faifai. I see your point w/ the money down. My dealer said that the couldn't go lower than $500 above invoice (which is here they were at).

I was able to do $1k below invoice in March 2012.

Can you try another dealership?

Low cost is easy in our area's many Lexus dealers.
I have around 8 in a 40 mile radius.
Different story with discounting in areas where Lexus dealers have no competition.
According to the Lexus site,MN has only two Lexus dealers.

Exactly. The funny thing is that they are both owned by the same party. I called the other one and tried to negotiate, only to have the dealership I started with call me back to discuss. I'll stand my ground and see if maybe I can negotiate my trade in price. I appreciate the help, all.
