Yeah the battery being dead isn't going to tell them anything. They need to find the draw.

My battery died this morning. I've been gone for 10 days. I do have a radar detector that's hardwired. As well as fog lights (Toyota lights, Katz relay and switch). The iPod was not connected, lights were all off, and no other accessories.
I measured the current from the dead battery and it said 3.5V. I've never seen anything that low even on previous cars that were drawing current (ie. bad alarm system). Lexus roadside assistance came and switch out the battery, gave me a new 84 months Lexus battery. The new battery after driving 30 min measures 12.85V. He told me Lexus is currently working on solving this problem. Apparently some GS are not charging properly and he expects a TSB soon so keep an eye out for it.
In the meantime I'm going to keep track of my battery current and do a battery draw test later this week to see if any of my devices were the culprit. I doubt it since last month I was gone for 5 days and I had no problems. And a couple months before that 8 days without problem. Hopefully it's a just a bad battery.

My GS sometimes sits for a week,IPod connected, auto headlights on and no battery issue.
You may be wondering about the auto headlights and power.
I don't know about Toyota but the wife's CR-V auto headlights has a slight draw on the battery according to a Honda service adviser.

I've had my car for 14 months now and the battery died twice within the first six months for no apparent reason. Lexus replaced the battery both times. I only drive my car on weekends (that's if the weather is nice). I was told by my service advisor that because I don't drive her that often that I may need to purchase a "battery tender" to keep her properly charged while she is sitting. I have yet to purchase it. The latest battery has been charging fine. It's been about 8 months so my fingers are crossed!

Last night right after coming home from driving I measured the battery and it read 12.85V. This morning it read 12.65V. I've since disconnect the fog lights on my F sports. Tonight I'll disconnect the radar detect too to see if there is a diffence. Then I'll remove the iPod cable to see if it makes any difference (right now the cable is connect but no iPhone connected).
After that my plan is to try auto headlight off and removing the keys farther from the car to see if there are any difference. And then perhaps do a drain/ draw test too.

Yeah, they're not going to replace your battery with the factory Panasonic battery. That thing runs $800-$1000.

Unicorn dust.
No idea, really.
I remember looking up the OEM battery price somewhere that showed $1000+, however looking at OEM websites now is only showing $100 for the battery. The part information is absent, so there's no way to know if they're actually selling the original Panasonic battery or not.
