Would it be advisable to get the battery replaced if nothing is wrong? Only asking because the 1 currently in my car seems a little underpowered at 480/510 CCA?

I would say to wait until that time comes - usually as the battery gets weaker, you'll see signs (particularly when starting up/cranking on the 4GS) which will help you know when its time. If you get an OEM battery, the CCA's are in the 500s. Only aftermarket batteries have higher options.

If you amortize the cost of a new battery over its typical life of 6-7 years a battery only costs about $3.00 a month or less. I'm guessing that's not a lot of money for most people! But sometimes i wonder!
It's amazing to me how many people wait until their car won't start due to a dead battery before they decide to replace it. They want to get the very last crank-up out of that old battery! Maybe if they get stranded at a very bad and stressful time they'll learn an unforgetful, valuable lesson.

BMW had a load management system that factored in battery degradation over time. I had the gas saver that turned off the motor when stopped and it was the first thing to shut down when the batter was reaching the end of its life.
Does anyone know if these cars do similar? WE don't have the auto off feature but other other features might matter.

Ever since I moved to Hawaii I have noticed batteries degrade faster in all the cars I've owned. Mine sits in direct sunlight 365 days a year. My previous Honda Accord went through batteries about every 2-4 years also.

Heat is a far worse enemy for batteries than most people realize. Most people think cold is the biggest concern. That is incorrect.

😂. I need to get an new battery, my Bosch agm is still working but I am noticing the steering wheel movement pauses in the middle of the start as opposed to everything moving and starting at once. These hot California summers don't help either and it's in a garage.
