Sound system blown out??
driving my 2014 GS350 when sudden loss of audio, and some electric systems. Bad alternator. Told now my sound system amplifier fried by dying alternator plus possible other components. Any experience out there? Troubleshooting? Can’t afford to replace the system. Please help. MISS MY TUNES 😩🎼🎹🎸🎧

I've had alternators die on other cars, and the sound system was always fine after installing a new alternator. Nothing ever fried.
A friend of mine installed an alternator on one of his Toyotas one time, and it turns out the alternator he installed put out way too much voltage. He brought it back, and swapped it for one that was working properly and putting out the proper voltage. After that everything was fine.
Luckily, he didn't run it long enough to ruin anything.
