The seal is permanent, you can't open the lens at all. The only DIY solution is to drill a small hole, inject some cleansing liquid, rinse it around, dry it by heating (hair drier), and seal the hole.

Or if you want to save time, just buy a new lens assembly. Its about $300. I have done a replacement, very easy to do.

Did you say 'down hill'?

His car is a train wreck just waiting to happen!

They just don't make things like they use to, do they. Should got to the Lexus Dealer and trade in for another ES. Bet the ES lights don't have that problem.

On a serious note, I doubt anyone will ever know it's there. Well except for that it's now posted here. lol!

It's all good now. And hell no, not another ES, I would get the RX first.

Peas got it. They're the same lights, just taken at a slightly different angle. Come on guys..

Anyway, I found something interesting after looking at it more today. The 4 plastic screws that are holding the piece to the trunk lid has marks and appears to be touched by a wrench. Hmm.. this is interesting. Could it be that someone at the dealer was swapping parts? I can't know for sure but one thing I'm sure of is that if I saw this on my lights from day one, I would've raised hell with my original dealer. Why it took me 3.5 years to notice it, knowing how meticulous and OCD I am with the car. The dealer had the car for almost 2 weeks so that's plenty of time to get some "work" done.

I'm just going to eat this and order new pieces, anyone know if these are the correct ones? These are not the darker GS F right?

BACK UP LIGHT (LEFT, REAR) - Part Number: 8159030560
BACK UP LIGHT (RIGHT, REAR) - Part Number: 8158030560

Why not take it apart and clean it? Seems like a nice DIY for you.
