Default 2015 Parking brake removal

I was hearing some rattling around in the rear suspension. My dealer said they found a bolt inside the parking brake.. I’m assuming it’s inside the drum.. they want $400 to take out and readjust the line. Curious if this is a difficult job or something I could manage at home. Thanks for the responses!

Once you remove the rear caliper, there is a grommet on the face of the rotor, removing that exposes the adjusted for the e-brake shoe. Once you loosen that you can take the rear rotors off.

When you said they found a bolt inside the parking brake drum, they didn't just take the rotor off to remove it. Taking the wheel off and looking inside is like half the work. $400 lol that's the labor they would charge to do all 4 brakes/rotors, huge rip off. If you replaced rotor/pads on any car, this is an easy job. I literately do this work in the parking lot at my apartment complex with the factory jack stand and some tools. The real question is where did this bolt come from?

Thank you! For the quick response. I haven’t had to do the rear brakes on my Gs yet. Im assuming they pulled it out already. I told my adviser I might do it myself just wanted some input from someone’s that’s dealt with it before I gave him my answer. I need to call back and ask.. He didn’t tell me much just that there was a bolt inside the parking brake. Btw diagnostic fee of $125 I believe still $300 for that work seems ridiculous.
