What if the GS dies?
With the all of the rumors about Lexus dropping the GS line, I’m curious what current GS owners would do if the rumor became reality. If Lexus were to get rid of the GS line and you were ready for a new car, would you stick with the Lexus family or move on?
I am definitely getting something else, even if they do keep the GS. My main problem with Lexus is, lack of innovations, decade old technology, lack of power and most important, ugly designs. Just look at what they did to an LS, that thing is a disaster. The ugliest flagship sedan on the road!

GS is too small for its price anyway. I have owned the Korean rival to the LS and wont own another one until they are AWD. I also have nothing but a Toyota dealer up here so I can't get anything else at the moment. If I am back in a city for my next car it will probably be an A8L

I would definitely move up to the LS. Having worked at a repair shop that specializes in German cars, I will never buy another BMW, Audi, or Mercedes again. The newer generation German cars are utter garbage in terms of reliability compared to the Lexus.

so my lease is ending at the end of the year.. if I am still in boston, I have 3 options..
1. Lease another GS350.. 2018 model, if I can get it almost as cheap as current.
2. Lease a 2018 A6 3.0T or a 540i.. I don't mind the "old" A6.. looks great to me..
3. Lease a CHEAP car/suv.. RAV4, Camry, etc for 2/3 years.. then buy a new IS model. I always wished GS was a bit smaller, and I am guessing the next IS will be a bit bigger. That would be PERFECT size for me.
4. Long shot.. Buy a GS-F if they are having $20k off MSRP blow out again..

My 2001 got me to 2017.
My 2013 should get me to 2020-something, long enough to for Lexus to come to their senses.
They're exploring new performance options in the coupe and large sedan; it's only a matter of time before they come back to the mid-size performance sedan.

I don't know where I'd go either. For me, it's not just the numbers on paper. Those big numbers on the German don't do much to me if the vehicle is a headache to maintain.
GS-F is definitely on my radar. Although my '15 F sport is plenty to keep me happy for awhile. Would never buy an ES as long as they keep the FWD biased AWD(if they come out with AWD).

I just custom ordered a fully loaded gs350 in usb. whenever that’s up we’ll see. I wouldn’t upgrade to a gsf cause it would be the same design and loses 3 cu ft in trunk space somehow. If it truest is dead then I made the right choice in ordering now and I’ll keep it till something I like better comes along

Currently I plan on driving my GS until it dies, but as much as I love Lexus, I just can't do the FWD ES and couldn't swing the new LS, so I'm somewhat considering hopping back in a Jaguar next time around but I've got some time since my '14 only has 28k on it.
