Default Compatible Tire & Wheel Combo Question

I'm having trouble finding info on compatible tire & wheel combos. Is there a thread dedicated to this?

I'm wanting to get some of the G Spider Lexus wheels that I think were offered for the 3rd gen GS for my 2013 GS350.

I have the 18x8 45 offset, 9 split spoke lux package wheels with 235/45R18. I'd kind of like to go wider with either 245/45R18 or 255/40R18. The G Spiders come in 18x8 45 offset and 18x8.5 50 offset.

Does anyone know if the 255s on the 18x8.5 will work on my car without rubbing issues? Any other combinations that people go with.

To compare your options, you can check the fitment here:

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

My guess is you may be pushing it a bit with the 255s on the 8.5 inch rim, but it may well be fine. I've used the above tool several times to run through different options. I settled on aftermarket wheels with the original 18x8 with the 45 offset (on 245/45s).

Good luck!

I've used that site but was hoping for some real world results from people. The 18x8.5 50 might push in to close to the suspsension so I'm now leaning toward staying with18x8 45 and going with 245/45 like you.

If I'm correct that 18x8.5 50 should put the wheel about 0.45" closer to the suspension and the front .05" closer to the fenders. If someone had gone with this setup it would be nice to know.
