Different Tires in Front
So, short version is I have been rocking TOYO Proxes 4 Pro for a while because that was on car when I got and I always replaced with those. Just recently realized those are 'ultra high performance' tires that are complete overkill. From recommendations and such, I'd like to go with a GT tire Pirelli G7 II Plus (or whatever they are called), but only my front tires need changed, back are practically brand new.
Any reason not to go with different tire in front and wait for the back until it needs it?
'15 non f sport, but has the 19 wheels. I drive spirited at times, but never enough that I think there is a benefit to having ultra performance tires... Rather get a bit more wear and comfort.

I know they always mention that if you have AWD, you shouldn't mix the tires...however, two tires blew out on my dad's '11 GS AWD and we replaced them with pirelli's in the rear and shifted the almost brand new dunlops to the front. He had no issues for 5 years until he replaced all 4.
You should be fine to put Pirelli's up front and keep your grippier Toyo's in the rear...even with AWD. Any idea how how much tread depth you have left on the Toyo's ?

Front were both decent, but due to needing an alignment (which I got) the edges are worn on the front. I opted to ignore when I had them rotated (moving worn edges to front) and immediately felt some slippage in rain driving home, lol.
Of course, I'm barely driving 20 miles a week, so hasn't been much of an issue. But considering a holiday road trip and don't want to a take the wife's leased SUV.
I believe 9/32 on both. One was replaced at beginning of pandemic.

Interested to see the diffenece with those on front, and once I get a rotate, and the toyo wear out, I can finally match all the way around.
