Default 2018 F Sport... AC not working

I've seen some AC threads in the past where problems with the AC not cooling have usually been downplayed. But mine is truly acting up.

The air from the driver's side vent is not cooling. I usually toggle the driver's side between 72-74 and the passenger 74-75, but this week the driver's side stayed warm. Even dropping the setting to the 60's did little to help. Held my hand in front of the middle drivers side vent, I could feel the air substantially warmer than the air for the passenger side, even the vent on he left of the steering wheel felt cooler. And the air to the back seat, significantly cooler. On Monday I though it was me, on Tuesday I was confused, today I am 100% sure the AC is whack.

I even went into the menu and turned off "DUAL", set to 68 and monitored both side of the vents in the center. The passenger side was cool while the driver's side just seemed to be blowing cabin-temperature air. Recirc is turned on so no outside air. During the morning the difference in temp is not obvious, but between 5 and 7 pm, it's very noticeable.

So anyone experience this? I just decided to start this thread before I go downstairs, start the car and stick a couple of food thermometers in the vents and take some pics.

Can't believe my new car, a Lexus at that is acting up... sigh... less and less in this world is dependable...

Edit: The temp difference at night in the garage is only 3-4 degrees between the vents. It could be one of those intermittent problems, I sure hope the dealer will be able to replicate it when I take the GS in. I'll likely be driving around with thermometers in the vents for a few days, with phone in camera mode ready to snap pictures.

My 16 gets ice cold. The good thing is you have warranty so I'd go ahead and take it in for service.

Take it back to the dealer. It should be covered under warranty.

Sorry to hear of this. Be sure to let us know what the dealer finds.

Yep... My son had a middle school science project about 4 years ago and he need thermometers to measure temps under differing conditions... I've got 5 of these at home.

Are you having the dealer look at your GS Chinee?

I had the same issue with my RX. Went back to the dealer like 2 or 3 times. Believe there is a setting that you have to disable for it to stop doing that. I thought I only had to turn off S-flow but apparently there was another setting. Ofcourse they did not tell me that, had to figure it out myself. Screenshot below.

this actually happened to me after dual zone ac was used and passenger side was hot and would not go down. dealer said the motor directing the air failed and they had to order the part and replaced it free of charge. strange but as long as it only happens this once im ok with it i guess. Gave me a chance to drive the ES hybrid

Update... solved! Got in early, dropped off, browsed showroom for 20 minutes, got a loaner. Headed home, had breakfast, dealer called, fixed! Now I'm back home with the GS by 9:45am, and so far so good; AC seems to be back to normal.

It goes on to say on the invoice "... if code returns, servo motor will have to be replaced, customer to monitor."

I was unaware that the technician could re-calibrate the A/C, which somehow performs a calibration of the servo motor. Interesting!

You had better hope that you do not have the same problem again with the B1443 code because replacing a servo motor almost certainly requires that the technician will have to go deeply into your dash where the servo motors control the damper doors within the A/C's duct work. Not a fun or an easy job!

This is what a typical air mix servo motor unit looks like...
