Sorry, but the GS350 does not have a timing belt.

Yeah, I think he's aware of that. He was referring to his old A4 needing the timing belt replaced around 80k.

Get the lux if it checks out, if you were looking at a lux and a base you are going to miss all the features and nicer interior you get in the lux. 2 years newer and 30K less miles is not worth 4K extra to me especially when the more expensive car has much less luxury. What are the colors?

Get a inspection done at a Lexus or Toyota dealership, go over it slowly, don't rush. 56K miles is not a lot at all especially for a 2013, my 2014 Lux had 59K miles. These cars have hardly any big or even medium issues, you can't tell the difference between 35K and 55K miles on just about all cars, a good detail will make a car with higher miles look just like the car with lower miles if there is a difference.

Correct. I was making a comparison to an easier maintenance. These motors have a timing chain, which is a lifetime item. Never heard of one breaking.

Just go for the lux. 30k more miles at this mileage isn't that big of a deal for a Lexus. How many miles per year do you average?
