2016 GS 350 f sport
Hello all,
I've come across a 2016 GS350 f sport with only 18.5k miles on it. Looks to be in very nice condition. I have not gone to see it in person yet. It is however located at a non-Lexus dealership (Acura) and is not a CPO (although the car is listed on a Lexus website, which is odd...I think part of a dealership network or something).
It still has 1 year of original btb warranty. Trying to get a hold of any maintenance records as the carfax indicates none.
Should I be concerned that it's not sold by Lexus dealership and not CPO? How would you handle?
Any thoughts much appreciated...cheers.

I bought my car from a Toyota dealership, not CPO. 18.5k miles, if the car wasn't in an accident, there really isn't anything someone could have done to hurt it permanently, it's a Lexus. I wouldn't worry about maintenance records, mileage wise it hasn't reached the limit for the second oil change, year wise should have had 2-3 by now because it's 10k miles or every year, whatever comes first.
After purchase, I would just do an oil change, air filter change, reset reminders, and base all future service off of that.
I bought my car 64k miles without much maintenance records, now 87k miles and zero issues. I do my own oil changes and don't keep any records of it, car reminds me when it's been a year or reached 10k miles.

Register at Lexus Drivers, you can then input the VIN and the service history, if any, will be available to you. You will also get the specific in service date and options that came with it when new. You can do this for any Lexus you are considering... not a bad resource to have.

i had the EXACT same dilemma. i found a non-CPO '16 GS350 F-sport at a BMW dealership. the owner of this dealership also owned a Lexus dealership so i was confused as to why they would not sell this car at their Lexus dealership as CPO.
fortunately this BMW dealership did all of the same inspections and replaced or repaired those things that did not meet their standard. (new tires, detailed, new breaks, alignment, etc.). this is my 3rd Lexus however it's the first non-CPO.
so after seeing the complete car fax report, having a trusted mechanic inspect it, and having the peace of mind of the remaining factory warranty i decided to purchase the car.
and i must say i am very happy with it. here's the link to the discussion i had regarding this issue. i hope it helps. good luck!

It still bothers me that there are no maintenance records on this 2016. It only has 18.5k miles, but why wouldn't the previous owner get is serviced especially when the first few are free?

Hey... you clearly didn't register on Lexus Drivers and research the car... c'mon man... the service history is there.

Chinee...thanks. Was able to see the service history after loading the VIN in my profile. Looks like previous owner had it in for 5, 10, 15k service intervals...thank you.

Going to try to go check out this GS350 this week. At the end of my lease on my 2016 IS 350. I really like the IS, it's been good to me. Only thing I don't like are the seats (still haven't found a good comfortable position...too cramped {bolsters}...and i'm not a big person either). Plus I've had 2 fender benders...all cosmetic and fixed through Lexus collision center, but makes buying off lease seem like a dumb move.

FWIW, I loved my IS350, but went to the GS and would never go back. It's everything I liked about the IS, but also contains all of the missing features of the IS, and in a much roomier package. The GS is amazing.

Gonna check out the car today. Feel better knowing previous owner did maintenance. A 2016 GS f sport with 18.5k miles for under $35k (non-CPO) seems like a good deal. Will try to get a little lower (would be a cash buyer). Still have purchase anxiety...reading reviews of how Audi A6/BMW 5 are better, but I would never buy a used one of those. Also the lease new vs. buy used decision rolling in my head...although from what I read I don't think there is huge difference between 2016 vs 2019.

Its likely that no one is going to the Acura dealership to buy an F-Sport Lexus GS so they are trying to get rid of the car by pricing it very competitively (especially if its been on their lot for a few weeks).
