I randomly came across this YouTube video posted here (maybe he's a member here?) and thought this "conversion" looks amazing and clearly a DYI but unfortunately the guy who posted doesn't mention what parts or how he did it and wants to keep the secrets to himself as it appears other have asked but doesn't provide any straight answers at it seems he was charging folks to get theirs done instead. Has anyone else in here successfully done the same mod here that would share more information? I think this is a great look and idea. Thoughts?

 

Nice, but you would have to open the headlight and swap out the drl led's. I opened a headlight once and was never able to put it back together without getting any dust inside. You basically need a clean room to do this. I'm sure he used a relay to trigger the amber turn signal led in the drl.

 

I remember seeing that a few years back (looks complicated but awesome). A few things I remembered seemed interesting to me were that:

a) He never shows it working with the headlamps/fogs on.
b) The existing front signal lights seem to be disabled which makes sense since it would seem like overkill.
c) The LED strip DRLs go to half brightness once the headlamps are on so i'm wondering how that works with his DRL signals - they may be dimmer as well once the headlamps are on unless he found a way to override.
