Grom
Thanks for beta testing this and the awesome write up.
Questions:
1) Is the Grom running on the data connection of your mobile phone? If so, is it connected by a physical cable like in OEM android auto / carplay systems?
2) How are you scrolling up and down? Are you pulling the directional pad up/down or pressing the zoom in/out arrows just above the pad?

2) Most of the scrolling was by clicking and dragging up/down or left/right with the directional pad. However the "in/out" or up/down buttons above the pad will move the screen up and down in most apps.
Update: Grom told me to cut one wire on their wiring harness to fix the check engine light and AC turning off issue. I performed the fix on Monday, drove around a little bit yesterday and used the car all day today with no issues.
The screen flashing seemed to stop with an update last weekend, over the past few days I've tired to replicate the screen flashing issue to no avail. I had a two hour commute on Monday and spent the majority of the time hitting random buttons trying to replicate the issue. (I've beta tested before and know how to break things) However the screen refused to flash or do anything out of the normal, so either I had a loose connection or one of the last two updates over the weekend fixed the issue. I'll continue to keep my eye on the screen issue to make sure it doesn't start flashing again.
Grom had two software updates in one weekend so they are defiantly trying to fix issues.
Unfortunately the backup camera still doesn't work, Grom stated on Monday they are still working on the issue. However there is a workaround, if you hit the menu button on the steering wheel prior to putting the car in reverse it will immediately switch to the default layout and the camera will work. If you forget, put the car in reverse and then hit the menu button on the steering wheel the screen won't change. Not only that if you take the car out of reverse and then hit the menu button on the steering wheel nothing will happen. The only way to get out of the Grom interface at this point is by holding the menu button on the center console down for 2 seconds. The key is to not hit the menu button while the car is in reverse, if you forget or change your mind and decide you need a backup camera put the car back into park and then hit the menu button.
@YaMomma Can you come back and update us on your install? Does everything work now without check engine light?
I'm seriously considering getting this. Really missed Pandora since Lexus took that away in November.
Does the backup camera work now? I watched your video, integration seems very nice.

Everything works with the exception of the backup camera. Check engine light hasn't come back on after disconnecting a wire per Grom's request.
At this point I'm used to the backup camera issue, i found hitting the "radio" button on the radio works best. I'll hit that button before i need to use the backup camera and the "media" button puts you back into the interface.

Does Android Auto work? I know the GROM interface is better, but just curious if AA is supported yet.
They have special price of $539 before Feb 15. I think I'm going to jump on it.

That's good to hear no more weird CEL errors. I can live without backup camera for a little while, I know GROM is working on it. Plus the work around exists, so it's not a big deal.

I want this but no backup camera or having to hit some buttons to switch to the backup camera is a no starter for me. I can't spend $600, hack up my car, and then lose basic functionality, given then stock infotainment system works good enough for me and the wife. @gromaudio you guys need to fix this asap if you want people to buy you $600 head unit; I wont until it works right.

This is the best solution we have so far for full Android apps in our cars. And the buttons integrations seems very nice too without installing some other 3rd steering wheel control interface.
I've been holding out for something like this. I know we have "mirroring" solutions, but that's kinda not ideal to have to use the phone to make any selections.
Seems like a well thought out solution that they're continually updating. Plus they're a CA based company not some fly-by-night overseas company. I can always call Support to talk to live person.
Will probably order soon. I got 30 days to return of things doesn't work out. Installation seems straight forward. I will be referencing @eddie420 awesome How-To Remove Dash guide.
