So after perusing these forums, I understand everyone has their own phone mount hack or 3rd party mount/charger for the 4th Gen GS but honestly think they are mostly ugly and cumbersome or block some function or just don't look right especially when you still have to run a wire to charge the phone all the way back from the center console cigarette adapter or USB ports. So this got me thinking there has to be a better way to integrate a phone with wireless charging capability into our GS dash that I can implement and modify. I went back and forth on many areas inside and even experimented with wireless phone mounts but all had the same issue. But then looked at the huge space between the Navigation screen and upper dash area (see photo below) and thought this would be the perfect area/spot to flush integrate a wireless charger for any phone. I may buy a separate used part of this dash piece as it seems to be 1 single unit then run do a custom cut out and modify this dash piece to install and flush mount one of these type of IQ wireless charging pads similar to the one below (photo below as an example) and then look for a source for power that will conceal and hide the cable underneath this dash piece so it looks like it came from the factory. I will be on the hunt and be my next project.
Crazy idea? Do you think this would even be a good idea to begin with? Love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Maybe someone already attempted this and failed.

Good idea. I already have a Tylt that I use with my phone. Most times I set it in the cup holder or sometimes suction cup it to the top of the cup holder cover.
Most of the time I'm using it as a GPS with Waze so I've considered putting it in front of the NAV map since it is redundant and expensive to update in a 2013.
My biggest issue is I don't want to have it leave a mark on the plastic cover or the dash. I haven't looked into making a bracket that would wedge between the top of the vent and the dash pad.
