Bummer to hear that the Aimgain has some imperfections. For that kind of price, you'd expect perfection. Oh well, I wait for update. Hoping Eddie or whoever can make the cheaper eBay knock-off work.

What i was disappointed however is the fact that there are one too many "imperfections" to the bumper, not the "high quality Japanese marksmanship" that I thought. The shop will place a layer of flexible bondo and smooth out all the imperfections.

As for updates on this process, the shop is a well known shop and they're quite busy with other projects too so it may take a while. I rather have them take their time and do it right then do a half *** job (which I know they won't). I waited almost 6 months, what's another month or two
Take pictures before and after of the bumper. No one needs to get suckered if the quality is not perfect. That is why I keep saying the 800$ plastic bumper is much better value.

Finally got it done. Definitely needed modifications to get it fit perfectly. Nothing crazy except for the fog light grill. Needed hours of hand sanding to take out the imperfections and then it didn’t fit bumper, left gaps all around. Bought rubber grill surround from Tacoma and it actually fit and looked like it’s meant to be used.

Wow sucks that you pay that much for the Aimgain bumper and it needs quite a bit of work to fit properly. The gap between the grill and the hood is just like the $500 eBay bumper.

Yeah... I was going to say that looks identical to the cheap one on eBay...? There is zero reason why he paid that much money only to "remove imperfections". There should be none. This should be a plug and play deal that price. Insane.

The eBay one might have fewer imperfections because it's injection molded plastic. Fitment is another story. I'm not a big fan of 2016+ grill, maybe if the chrome was blacked out they look better.

Thanks for coming back and update us @BUZY3215. Sucks that you had some fitment problems. It should fit perfectly for that asking price.
Premier by Espirit kit looks 1000x better. Hope the fitment is much better and doesn't cost my left kidney.

@BUZY3215: It does look pretty good overall - I agree with other posters that for the price, it shouldn't have required you to get a thicker rubber grille surround from a Tacoma to fill that gap. However, it looks like that did the trick to make it as flush as possible.

When I changed my grille to an aftermarket one from E&G, i had the same issue with the rubber grille surround and no matter how hard I tried, it just didn't sit snug as the OEM sat between the top of the grille and the hood. Nicely done though, I think you're one of the first with the Aimgain conversion on a pre-refresh!

Thanks, it does look great now and do love it. I guess the reason OEM's are the best is because they spend hundreds of millions of money and countless hours to develop the parts.

Damn, I do like the ground kit and the side grills. Wonder if i can get that fitted into my Aimgain bumper...LOL. I don't think my wife will let me though...
