PlastiDip or Wrap - Houston Area
I'm looking to do a chrome blackout, bumper wrap, and roof wrap for. 2015 F-Sport. Two questions:
1) What are the pros and cons of wrap or plastidip? Will one last longer? Which is more affordable to install?
2) Can anyone recommend a shop for either in the Houston-Woodlands, TX area?

Plastidip is cheaper but the wrap will hold up better on the parts youre doing. Plastidip has to be sprayed on in heavy layers to peel off like you see in the videos. If not, its a pain to remove. I believe the Plastidip is supposed to last for 6 months. So youd probably have to take off and reapply at some point. I dipped and wrapped some parts on my last car; the wrapped stuff just holds up and looks better.
You will get plastidip overspray in-between every single crack/crevice/gap in bodywork. If your installer isn't as professional/high end, they will likely not mask off your wheel well carpeting/door jambs/trunk jambs and you will also get a ton of overspray in these areas. It is a nightmare that truly is never-ending. I had a black Infiniti that I plastidipped matte pearl white and I was never able to truly remove all of the plastidip after months and months of trying. Areas you'd never think of like key holes, in between the body of the car and the tail lights, mud flaps, etc. It was my biggest regret with that car. Looked great though and was worth the experience of having a unique color/dip job.
I won't ever do it again, but I'm glad I did it at least once. :P If I had kept that car and didn't eventually trade it in, I would probably think otherwise as it's not something I'd be able to live with.

EDIT: Re-read the OP and now realize you were talking about a much smaller dip job. For what you're looking to do, I would go the plastidip route. You shouldn't have any of the same issues I went through with that small of a job, in comparison.
