You definitely can feel something dis-engage when shifting to neutral, like tension is released.

I live in Chicago so we spend a lot of time idling in traffic. I never shift to neutral at stop lights and my Camry is 18+ years old, still running on the original engine and transmission with almost 200K miles now.

Yeah, you are disengaging power from the engine to the transmission. That's how it's suppose to work.

So shifting to Neutral at every light won't harm anything?

No, not hurting anything but I suspect you'll wear out the shifter before you have transmission issues.

Shifter is like $50. It's a non-issue to me.

Plus think about all the stress you put on the transmission when you put it back in gear while trying to move through the green light. You run the risk at some point that your foot and hand will get out of sync and the engine will be revving with no foot on the brake when you shift into gear.

There is no benefit (nothing to be gained) by putting the transmission in neutral at stoplights.

Hahahahaaaa. I only use my wipers when I absolutely have to because I want to save wear and tear on them. LOL

Ever since I had my car Opti-Coated (Opti-Gloss on the windshield) I don't ever use my wipers unless it's a mist type of rain and I'm going < 50mph.

I love driving down the interstate in a downpour without using my wipers - always gives me a kick to think what the other drivers must be thinking when they see my car without the wipers on. Truth be told, the visibility is just as good without wipers as it is with when you've got beading from a ceramic coating happening on your glass at 65mph.

This is the biggest problem, eventually you WILL **** it up, and probably put some wear on the thing trying to do this.
