Default Final Post...

This will probably be my final post so here is how she sits with few more mods to do over the summer. Thank you, everyone, for their help during my ownership of the GS350.

Congrats on the CLS. When I pay off my GS I plan on getting a gently used S550 4Matic as a weekend driver. Please keep us posted on the reliability of the CLS.

Pardon my ignorance, but whats the difference between like an S550 and a CLS? Is it just beefier motor/drivetrain/etc? Maybe stiffer suspension?

S550 is an estate sedan in the classic sense. Big saloon with 4 doors and a high roof. The CLS550 is a "4 door coupe" (thanks Mercedes for coining a term that DOESNT MAKE SENSE) and has a sloping rear roof line (as seen in the above pictures). The CLS is not at stately, expensive or well optioned as the S550.

Your comments remind me of a great article. "... take, for example, the insistence on the part of Mercedes-Benz and BMW and a few other companies that we call their fastback sedans "four-door coupes..."

Lol. I personally love the CLS.... but the rear end does look like a dog that is tucking his tail because he's about to get spanked.

the CLS is also more closely related to the E Class rather than S Class right?

It isnt particularly closely related to either. It is slightly bigger than the E class in body (smaller than the S) but interior room is about equal to the E thanks to the sloping rear roof line. It is also a "hatchback" and is a direct competitor to the Audi A7.

IMHO, completely boring interior like the E class. I like the CLS on the outside but the interior leaves a lot to be desired.
