Lexus model abbreviations

Was going through Lexus website in Australia for my sister. Saw these abbreviations and seem interesting as I haven't heard these in USA, lemme know what you guys think.

Nobody really calls them that in the US, but that is how Lexus comes up with the model names/abbreviations for their sedans.

How about the LS? I think i remember them saying it was "Luxury Sedan" back in the early 90's.
