Good bye to the GS
Life is short, go after what you want and make yourself happy. the B58 turbo I6's on the newer BMW's are absolute beasts. they will put 300+rwhp on the chart fresh out of the box and go up to almost 400 rwhp after just a tune. The steering feel sucks but they are still great cars.
A few cars ago I had an 07 335i (e90) with the N54 twin turbo motor. That car racked up 20k of repairs under warranty (thankfully nothing out of my pocket) but it made for some great fun, especially with the 400rwhp I was pushing. Watch the residuals and money factor - there are great lease deals to be had on BMW's (please don't buy one LOL).

😂😂😂 these comments are hilarious and some quote true. I've experienced having a BMW and all the problems that come with them. I've never understood why a "luxury" car would have so many cheap plastic parts as main engine components. But hey....to each its own. I'll admit...the BMW was very fun to drive but not worth the headache in my opinion.
Enjoy it. Go with what you want. If it sucks on the hindsight than so be it. It doesn't matter what everyone else says. Only what you do. If somehow anyone here actually cares about one more or one less Lexus owner and his thoughts about the subjective opinion of his time as a owner I'd be truly surprised. Truth is that the only thing that matters is how you feel about the car not what someone else has to say about it. Not going to waste time in an argument about this that and the other.
Good luck with it Dallas. Hopefully someone else is finding your exLex not as boring and continued troublefreeness.

M4 is a great choice for a coupe. I needed a sedan so i got an 2012 IS-F (from a 3GS). If I were shopping for a daily driver today, I'd either get an M3 sedan or GS-F.
Good luck with your search! I hope the Dallas dealers are better than Austin. Buddy of mine had the Austin dealer put 120 miles on his M3 during a routine service visit and the service department told him it was necessary for them to do a test drive.

Good Luck we had the same color cars out here in Dallas LOL. I guess this means the caliper painting party is off, huh?? lol
Cousins had enough problems (required towing) during their leases to deter me from BMW.
I also extensively drove the new 540i (RWD & X-drive) hard during the Ultimate Driver event they held recently, and I walked away not impressed. Throttle was very laggy and interior was the same boring BMW interior. Exterior styling was pretty bland too; not much different than the previous gen. The only thing I liked about it was the tech; wireless Apple CarPlay seems nice. Adding the options that I would want on the 540 made it very expensive and not worth the money IMO. Not to mention, the BMW dealers tend to stock cars missing several of the safety tech (BSM, ACC, LKA, etc). The M4 would be a fun option, but I wish they made it in the Gran Coupe. Good luck on finding that new, "more fun/interesting" car. Might I suggest Porsche...
To the comment about BMW 5-Series selling better than the GS "for a reason," you'd be surprised how many BMW customers buy it just for the badge. Several could care less how the car drives, as long as it looks good and has a German badge on the car they are satisfied.

Best wishes with your new ride. Be sure to post pictures and details when you get it!
Did you see the test Car and Driver just did on a new RWD 530i? Those things get expensive very, very quickly.

All of a sudden the GS F doesn't seem so bad...
Our 530i test car was larded with options that inflated its $52,195 base price to an absurd $74,160—this for a four-cylinder 5-series.

Of the afformentioned brands I can only rate Lexus in the highest of regards with Mercedes a very close second. BMWs are plagued with electrical issues, if they are not then they will be pissing oil or coolant. I have not encountered more terrible vehicles than the E60 and the E65. All are bad but those hold a special place in automotive hell.
I'd consider a E400 if you want a change of pace.
