My father just purchased a 2016 GS350. He sees a line in the side mirror as he sits in the driver or passengers seat. The reflection is coming from the wood grain part of the dash when light is overhead. It could be a garage light or sunlight.

The selling dealer saw the reflection and suggested putting a pice of blue painters tape on it. Really??? A new car. Has anyone seen this. It has now been reported to Lexus corporate.

Yes, this has been an issue from day 1 for the 4GS. It was MUCH worse in the earlier F-Sport models with the shiny aluminum trim. There's not really much you can do.

I've voiced my concern as well but it seems some Lexus fanboys drank too much cool-aid. I have a crafted line F-Sport so the dark wood trim isn't as bad or bothersome but it was one of the thing that shunt me from a F sport with aluminum trim.
I will never accept painter tape on a 60K car.

 

It's been normal in the GS since the 2013 model hit the streets. You get used to it in time.

 

Just as an FYI...they updated the F-Sport with MY16 to use a matte finish aluminum trim. It is much better in the updated F-Sport models.
