Questions about apexi smart throttle controller

Hey guys. Just picked up apexi smart throttle controller. I have a 2013 gs350 f sport full option and im struggling to figure out where to attach the operating apexi button.

Why not put it on the empty plastic part underneath the gauge dimmer and odo/trip buttons.

Might be a stupid question but whats the best way to cut a square for the button to fit?

I had mine mounted under the parking brake button with two way tape. I like to remove it when going to the dealer.
