My plan. Purchase L/Certified 2015 F-sport, as many bells and whistles available in August. August is usually a fairly critical month for movement of dealer stock...am wondering if anything thinks 16' rolling stock will start moving for 17' and will have any residual on 15's? Granted, if the 16' number is right, I'd just go with that, but 2015 is the line as I'm pretty set on desired tech features that just aren't available on 2014.
Thoughts?
And no, I don't drive a Ford. That is "US Navy Mustang"...
August is usually critical for wrapping the 3rd quarter, since the next model year shows up late 4th quarter. Incentives seem to be spread across each quarter based on what is and isn't moving. Your best deals will always come in December and if you're shopping CPO 15's, there should be more available by then as people trade up and take advantage of the December to Remember sales.
Like anything else, waiting usually saves you money. If you can hold out for December, it's the best time to buy new, but buying used, that's really up to the dealer's used inventory.
I would personally try to find a good deal on a 16 because they have more features than the 15's, such as lexus safety system+, more color options, and imho better styling.
Noted. Probably not holding out till December, but I'm not targeting 16 (yet). Will have to see the availability.
So, what's the easiest way to go about finding what you want? Just go to a Lexus dealer and tell them what I want?
Try to use the internet sites like cars.com and autotrader and lexus.com to find the car your want. When I was shopping, I compared 4 cars on cars.com, printed them and took them to each dealership to show that their competition was cheaper, or had lower mileage or had a better incentive. If they really want your business, they'll do as much as they can to sell you the car - price match, extra key/mats/spoiler/rebate/cash incentive/loyalty program incentive or anything to sweeten-up the deal.
Narrow your car down to the colors/interior/options. Never go the dealership without doing your research beforehand - its always awesome to say to a salesperson "i understand, but Lexus of ... is offering the same car but its $1800 less - what can you do for me?" I did this when I bought my IS and my preferred dealer price-matched the other dealership (the other dealership had some horrible salespeople i might add). So... I drove that car home that day! For my GS, I narrowed down everything, found a great car at a different dealership and my dealership's sales manager found a similar car with the options I wanted and offered it to me at his best price.
