I finally had a chance to ride in the rear of my 4GS and 3GS back to back this week.

Like my in-laws who sit in the back all the time attested, this generation of 4GS has really been designed for sports over comfort.
Although it has more rear foot and headroom and a considerably bigger trunk, the new 4GS is actually shorter and narrower in the rear compartment, maybe because of the thicker seat backrests, and increased side intrusion requirements.
The new 4GS has much firmer rear seats with much greater lateral support, is also much firmer riding on both springs and shock absorbers, and has a considerably noisier rear ride than the outgoing model mostly from tire noise.
However, the 4GS steering is pin sharp, and the handling sometimes belies its size.

If you want sports and handling, go GS.
For comfort, go LS.

Very different cars. I obviously chose the LS, but I could see why somebody would choose the GS. If you have to carry your kids I would definitely choose the LS...and did.
I'm 6ft 1 with two teenagers, one adult sized and the backseat leg room is lacking in my GS. I'm eyeballing the LS pretty hard now and waiting for the 2013's to come down in price a little more before I make my move.

I hoping to find a decent CPO GS F with 15k to 20k miles in a couple of years.

I actually meant GSF, I currently have the Fsport, I'm looking a year and a half down the road, so cpo GSF or cpo LS, both would be 2016s.

Take a drive in the LS, the interior looks like an opera house, it's fantastic and super comfortable. They even have a very mild F Sport package. I had sticker shock so I passed it by, but 2013 CPO's may be more reasonable.
