It sucks to have to navigate through the screen to see its status. That is one flaw I don't like about the 4GS. Well that and dual climate....
I understand what you mean about the flaw of not having a physical AC button, but can you expand on the dual climate? The GS has it, even has 3 zone, but is there something about it that's not right?

On both my RX and GS I just set my climate to auto and the only thing I ever adjust is to modify the temperature up or down a bit. I've never felt a need for an AC button, though my IS did have one (I never used it). The AC helps cool the air in the summer and helps avoid fogging up the windows in the winter. I just let it do its thing...

When its in dual mode you have to navigate to the climate screen to turn it off. There is no quick way to turn it off(like hold the auto for 3 seconds or something).

I just leave it in auto and don't toggle the AC on/off. I only did it once and the air didn't seem fresh no more. Lol. So now I leave it on.

you can actually set the AC to be manual thorugh the menu>vehicle setting>customer or other settings...i know it's NOT through the regular climate controls...

I see someone says they had this changed with Techstream. You can change the Auto-AC functionality with Carista too. I have seen it in my Carista options. From their site: Auto-turn on A/C when AUTO button pressed (if needed)

A/C doesn't = cold air...it equals conditioned air like my friend posted earlier....it's the process of removing humidity from the air, and if you want to be comfortable you want the humidity removed. And that goes for whatever the temp is

The circulate/fresh air button is not the a/c on off button....its only purpose is to either circulate the cabin air or let fresh air in....

Hey everyone, so the other day I took my 4.5 hour drive up north and decided to listen to what was said here. Set it to auto, turned on S Flow(only me in the car), and set my temp. Worked out fine with the AC on the whole time, even when warm temps were needed(still freezing up in northern MN!). Even with rain and snow outside the windows never fogged up.

Thanks again for the tips guys.

Have you tried toggling the circulate/fresh air vs. Auto Circulate/Fresh Air?

This is the way I have mine setup. A/C only comes on when I have the Recirc/Fresh Air mode in AUTO. So I just use that button to toggle the compressor off and on.
