So I got rear ended on new years day, if many remember my silver GS it basically looks like that. The damage could have been worse, as it was three cars. Basically young girl was driving and texting and did not see the car in front and slammed into the rear of that car which then hit me. The Prius got the most damage so I'm thankful that the damage was minor as it could have been me that got that damage. The young lady's car needed to be towed away as the airbags deployed, I really wish people would get the idea that texting and driving is not safe.
Oh man...DANG! Sorry to see that. At least it's just a bumper - about as minor as you can get. Would rather it be the rear vs the front on these new 2016's. I bet you had to resist the urge to walk over and grab her phone and slam it on the ground. I know I would have! Glad everyone is OK.
It blows me away how many people text and drive like it's not a big deal. I keep my phone between the shifter and the wrist rest for the mouse pad while I drive, and if I get to a stop light that's when I'll send a text if needed, but as soon as the light turns green I turn it off and set it down. It's not worth the risk to text and drive at the same time.
Glad you're okay and that the damage is minor. Looks like just the bolts from the front plate of the car that rear ended you punctured your bumper?

Surprisingly I didn't feel angry probably cause the damage wasn't that bad.

I wish the license plate screw made holes in the bumper!

Yeah I'm the same way, I have actually tried it once, and it scared the living crap out of me as I'm taking my focus off the road so I always wait tell I get to a stoplight or have the navi read out the text, safer that way.
Ok so I'm trying to figure out which dealership to go to, I have a Lexus certified collision center but it is 1hr 33min away reviews can't really say much on it. The other one is way closer and I have dealt with them but I have a feeling the color will not match which is driving me nuts. Any suggestions, PS the certified one is Balise Collision center and the other is herb chambers collision.

Sorry to see - glad it isn't worse.
Hollis in Ashland. They work on high-end cars, and they are the shop my dealership uses. That's how I was introduced. Personally, I don't formally buy into the whole "Lexus Certified" thing, as there are many excellent shops that are not so (and conversely, I wouldn't necessarily want to take my car to one of the shops you mentioned just because of the Lexus certification).
Hollis did the entire front of my LS460L, Black Sapphire Pearl which is a 3-coat color, and it matched beautifully WITHOUT blending with the doors (something I had explicitly discussed before they touched the car).
They also did a great job on the front bumper on my LS600hL.
I can share detailed photographs if you would like. I am very particular about this stuff and do not make recommendations lightly. These guys were great to work with and will do what it takes to ensure you are happy. Just my 2 cents...

Sucks man! My '14 GS got the same damage last year. I was at a stop light going home from school. The impact felt hard. Dude was on his phone. The only damage was his plate screws indented into my rear bumper.
reading the topic i was expecting worse. lol! but go figured they were texting. i was rear ended at 60mph + my car was on top of his. he was on the phone go figure!
