Default Whine noise accelerating??

Ok so a few days ago when I was at an ATM i stopped and revved my engine, i could hear a whining sound like bee/supercharger type. It gets pretty loud when i revv the engine and you could hear it whine down as the rpm drops. Now I put it in Sport mode and on drive and when I hit the gas I could clearly hear the whining noise even in the cabin, specially when I let off the gas and let the Sport mode keep the revvs up high. Anyone know if this is normal??

Pretty sure it has done this since I bought it, but I always have music on so maybe that's why I didn't hear it til now.

Mine does it too! Pretty normal I guess. If I recall my Camry made a whining noise too. Maybe it's a Toyota thing. Idk.

Mine does it too... my dad's GMC envoy does... buddies charger does.. but my tacoma does not. i honestly cant explain it. It's strange that you can only hear it from outside, not in the drivers seat, and i dont notice it with the windows down...

Sounds like it is normal from what other people have been saying but I had a issue in a different car with a tensioner pulley that was going and it would make sort of a whining/high pitched sound when revving the engine, it would get worse the higher you revved it.

Normal. It's also the reason why a lot of people mistake the GS for being supercharged, but we know better...

We know IT IS supercharged, Toyota just wanna remain low key and keep telling us it's a N/A motor.

They did an excellent job of camouflaging the supercharger and masking its power!

They sure did. I can barely hear it over the clacking noise the DI makes.

We all know it's supercharged anyway, the fuel consumption gives it away
