Default 12 volt socket or cigarette socket

Today I was testing my dash cam out and realize the 12 volt socket actually cause my stereo to go silent. Also it doesn't charge nothing, I even try to charge my iPhone and it jus makes my stereo go silent. Has anyone here had that happen to them.

Which one is giving you the issue? Inside the center console or outside?
Haven't tried the external one for the back seats, yet. But no issue's with the console one?

Can't confirm. I had a cigarette socket dual usb charger but the thing was such a poor design, you had to shove it in so hard and even then it wasn't deep enough to work. Then you'd pull it out and it threatened to take all the hardware out with it. POS.

If I have USB devices that need to charge, I bring the right cable and plug it in to the usb socket instead. Wish there were 2.

I assume you tried a different 12v convertor in that socket?
Do you have the ability to measure the voltage of the 12v socket?

Sorry to say but I think a trip to the dealer is in order. Sounds like it could be a ground issue somewhere.
