Sorry to hear that.

I usually travel Monday through Thursday. But last week I was home and drove the car on the 35 almost every day.

You were not kidding with those potholes!!! I tried to avoid them, but inevitably did eat a few….I was comforting myself with the thought that I got the Lexus optional coverage for tires, rims and dings…But fortunately the car wasn’t damaged.

And yeh, I don’t miss at all the 8 speed. The 6 speed auto is really nice. I especially like the rev matching downshift. The manual shifting has more delay that I would like though. But I usually drive in auto mode, so I don’t really care.

I have driven both, and I found them very similar in performance and mileage overall.. the graphics on the screen appeared cosmetically updated too in the new model as another difference I didnt see mentioned.

To me the Sport mode seemed to make a bigger difference in the way the cars moved more so than the 6 vs 8 speed. Even more so with the Sport + mode - I was stunned at how drastically that alters the car, almost turning it into a new animal with the steering and suspension settings changing up too! It really is like having two cars in one...

I did end up with a 2015 F Sport, as I really enjoy "spirited" driving. I think it comes down to finding the one that suits your preferences and needs the best, and you really cant go wrong with the 4GS!

Congratz to you on your new ride!

I'm not sure what "Flush mounted sensors for available Intuitive Park Assist" means.
I have the Intuitive Park Assist option and I can't see any difference in the sensors between the 2013 and 2014 model.

2013 parking sensors stick out while 2014+ sits flush with the bumper.

It's subtle, but you can see the sensor difference here:

Below is my 2013.
I looked at some 2014-2015 pics and honestly it's hard (for me) to tell the the difference.

Saw your post after I posted mine.

On your pics you can definitively tell the difference.

I heard the 2016 model will have the sensors so flushed that you won’t be able to see them. It’s going to look exactly like a 2013 model….. that doesn't have the parking assist option.

Kidding aside is it just cosmetic or it adds functionality?

It's mainly for aerodynamics and cars with flush mounted sensors can travel twice as fast while using only half the fuel.

I would hope the flush mounted sensors would be more durable as less of it would be exposed to road debris, But in the end, it's probably just 99.99% cosmetics.

Flush mount sensors add just a tad under 79 horsepower and 56 ft-lb of torque, and increases fuel mileage a whopping 93%.
