Wouldnt get a new GS350 without it. Cannot add it after, would need new dash for it.
Can get directions on it, music info (track number/folder/volume). pretty awesome. Someone on this forum said that $900 was too much for HUD.
$900 to never have to look down at dash= priceless.
The safety this offers cannot be understated!
Would sign up for it every single time.
I am not 100% absolutly positive but believe the 2014+ GS models have HUD in full color now. Those pictures posted were from the 2013 GS models. Correct me if I am wrong. Anyways thats the one feature my GS didnt have that I would have loved to have.
yes the new hud is in color. The display is still the same just with color for some of the arrows, etc. I have it on my 2013 and LOVE it . Hate driving my wfes car without it.
That being said, I will agree, the BMW system is much much much better. Nicer graphics, more information, etc. But I guess any hud is better than no hud at all.
Absolutely right Man realize how great is having a HUD in the moment driving car without one. And next crazy thing is driving my wife's Toyota in the night. I am like blind without adaptive Bi-LEDs either xenons I am always driving slowly and on high beams
I think there's a fine line between having too much info on the HUD (and therefore becoming distracting) and having not enough info. I saw the HUD for a new Prius, and it was very minimalistic and monochromatic and definitely in the "not enough" category. Without seeing the BMW HUD in person, it would be hard to say if it was too much or not. I ordered my GS with a HUD and haven't gotten to try it out for myself yet, but I'm thinking it's in the Goldilocks zone where HUDS are concerned.
I find the HUD somewhat helpful, but info is quite limited- for example, radio info only shows up for a few seconds when you change a channel or increase the volume. Nav info only shows up right before you need to make a turn. HUD is difficult to see with sunglasses.
