I had to fight to get my 40k trade in value on the GS (non-F Sport w/Premium & Navigation) when I traded it in for the Audi

Looks like they still haven't sold it....

Are GX's REALLY selling that well?

Funny thing was that the worst trade in value of all was at the Lexus dealership and was the determine factor of my getting the Q5 vs. RX450

I just recently traded my 2014 F-sport after 3.5 months and 3k miles and got $40.5 after some fighting and taking it to a few dealerships. Almost 10k off the purchase price Granted, I didn't have the stock wheels and it was dropped, I was told I would've gotten 2k more with the stock wheels... Never sell your stock wheels!

No sales tax advantage here.
What options does the car have (cold weather package, HUD, ML audio)? Is it stock? Have you considered selling private party?

I live in Louisville and was not planning to buy until next year, but might have a change of heart for a deal too good to pass up.

These are terrible numbers. I purchased a 2013 ES350 early in 2013, received 10% off msrp, traded it with 10K miles a year and half later for my 2014 F-GS350 for simply the difference in msrp and got a $1K Lexus loyalty discount. Timing or the fact that I had complained to Lexus about some quality issues....I don't know....but if I got the kind of offers I see here I would be still driving the 2013. I topically keep my cars for 10+ years and this one better last because doing the dance with these Stealerships is my least favorite thing in life.

Cold weather package, blind spot, parking sensors, F-Sport, AWD. Doesn't have ML, HUD, Dynamic cruise, night vision or rear steer. Here's the window sticker

Never reveal that you have a trade in before securing the final price of your car. Doing show is showing your hands too early and if you have no clue you will no longer get the best possible deal.

Your trade in Jersey would save you $2492 in sales tax with a $35600 trade.
Get the money for the GS via CarMax and wait for a better lease program in about a month or so. The 2015 should be better in terms of value, but Lexus probably wants their dealers to clear more 2014 GX inventory before the 2015 deals improve.

True this, 3 words: December to Remember. That's when the discounts hit so they can make their 4th quarter numbers pop. Keep in mind that as the buyer, you hold the real power. You can turn down offers all day long, nothing sticks until you sign off on it. Play dealers against each other, getting them to fax you hard offers. With a Carmax offer in hand, the dealer should be forced to match it (at LEAST match it) if not incentivize further.

Of course there are local market factors to consider. Big cities with alot of high income people may not see the best deals from dealerships that have people walking in with briefcases and getting cash discounts. That's not unusual here in North Texas, and California seems to get killer deal on leases year after year.

Going to Car Max later.

11,800 miles...pristine condition. This is touching ridiculous.

All online sites say to expect 38,500 to 42,900.
Try selling it yourself. I have sold all my cars on CL

I sold 3 cars on Craigslist and 1 car from Roadfly. Both of my BMWs were purchased from out of state buyers looking for a California owned car (no snow salt issues), folks wired me the money, flew in and drove the cars away.

If I traded in, I would've lost about $6k-$8k typically.
