Default Approaching 1k - list of problems-looking for feedback

Hello gents,

Approaching my 1k in a couple of days and I comprised a list of issues for the dealer to check out:
- Sometimes the car shakes at first startup for a couple of seconds. Could be engine mounts?
- That dreaded wind noise, feels like I didnt turn my window all the way up, or didn't shut the door properly
- Driving is not smooth at all! Don't know if it's a wheel balance thing or the bridgestone potanzas. It's not road feel, the ride is 'bouncy'.
-Starting to hear a 'tapping' noise, as if some1 is tapping on my window or a small rock chipping the windshield. Seems to originate from the left rear seat window area.
-RPM needle is all over the place! it doesn't move in a smooth manner, it will sometimes "jolt" up or down. What could be causing this?

2014 gs350 f-sport.

Any1 know the root of these issues so I can make my dealrs life (and mine ) easier?

Thx in advance.

My 2014 GS350 has none of those issues so I cant really provide much input. Your GS probably has single pane windows thats why you have more wind noise. You can have the dealer order double pane windows and install them. This should help make wind noise non existent but this not gonna be cheap. There was another member that did this exact thing and it improved the wind noise by 100%. I think you might have bought a GS350 made on a friday night or a monday morning. You may have a lemon on your hands.

I imagine the tach is accurate and is showing you rev matching during downshifts. It definitely does this in S and S+ modes. If you're hauling along at 70mph on the highway and hit a patch of traffic, jam the brakes to 40mph, you'll see the tach jump up considerably as the car downshifts 2 gears and rev matches each shift.

Wind noise is normal, it's thanks to the shape of the rearview mirrors and glass thickness. Cars with the cold weather package get double thickness windows up front which reduce this noise.

I complained about the wind noise at my last service check. Service Advisor recommend pulling off the protective clear plastic covering on the rearview mirrors. I didn't do it but would be curious if anyone has tried that solution?

Do a search on this issue...i'm sure i've read (on CL) that after removing the paint protection, wind noise disappeared.

Try taking off the PPF... It seems to work for quite a few people.

Hello gents,

Just got a call back from the dealership.

-They could not replicate the startup shakes. Understandble as it only happened to me 3-4 times.

-They claim wind noise levels are normal.

-Vibrations were due to 2 faulty tires, they will replace all 4, YAY!

-I forgot to mention the tapping noise to them, bummer.

-As mentioned above the RPM needle jolting is normal.

My biggest gripe was the choppy ride, glad they found the root of the issue. Overall, I'm a happy camper. Can't wait to drive it again!
