I'm not really planning to carry the handgun so much for self-defense, but am thinking that I might need to stow it while traveling, when entering some place where it's illegal to carry. I'd like to have it available when I arrive, for going to a range, though. I've never been in a situation where I've needed a weapon for self-defense and go out of my way to avoid places that could be problematic.

Perhaps call these guys and discuss. I have the multivault next to my bed. The nano may be slim enough to fit somewhere...

I would get this but fumbling for the key would take longer than needed. I would probably pass. There was a thread on this in the 3GS section I'll see if I can find it.

How about a biometric safe in the trunk? If you're just transporting it (or storing it while not carrying) I think it's a safe bet (no pun intended).

The video shows a combination type locking device as an option. I think that would work. If your gun is in the trunk it's for storage purposes anyhow. It's not like you are going to run to the trunk to grab your piece when the ****s hits the fan.

This seems like a good option. For a big price tag, maybe there's room inside the door panel, with some customization, if someone really wanted to be able to have immediate access. I've never taken the door apart, though, so I don't know this. You'd probably need a custom safe, as well. Or maybe a mod to the drivers seat.
