Default Weird Navigation Blip! Anyone else experience this?

I just took my longest drive to date in my 4GS, from Pennsylvania to Boston. I set the Nav for my hotel --- picking the longest route because it avoided New York City. All was fine until I stopped for gas. Before I shut off the engine, I look at the Nav screen and saw that I was 58 miles from my destination. Gassed up and back in the car, I got back on the road. A minute later, I looked at the Nav screen. Now it said I was 87 miles from destination. WTF?! Apparently, my Nav picked a different route from the one I wanted, after I restarted the car. Same thing happened on the return, so I went through the trouble of deleting the destination, and reprogramming, and picking the alternate route that I preferred.

This is frustrating! My Acura's Nav has never done that! What is going on? Is it broken? I haven't noticed anything else amiss, but this weird thing with the Nav auto-picking a different and maybe shorter route, after restarting is a pain in the a$$!!!

Ive experienced similar anomalies with mty '14 GS. Sometimes when I shut off the car the recirculation setting is auto switched to fresh air even though I dont have it set on auto. Sometimes when I shut off my car, the air conditioner that I had on full blast before I shut down car....when I restart the car the air condition is off even though its 90f outside. But most of the time this does not happen.

Do you have nav traffic? Not sure if that could explain why this happened but its a start.

This might sound strange but...I don't know if I have nav traffic. I do know that while driving, that Nav voice sometimes tells me stuff like "in 15 miles, construction." Or this: "in 20 miles, heavy traffic." Is that nav traffic? What does it have to do with changing the route after I shut off the engine to stop for gas? I don't remember asking for nav traffic when I got the car, nor have I asked to for a detour around traffic.

Uh, yeah, if it knows about current traffic conditions, it's got Nav Traffic via XM. This is normal. If your route changed, I bet you refueled some time around rush hour and the Nav picked a longer route with a shorter or equal drive time considering traffic conditions. That's my best guess.
