It is working correctly, and the install, while tedious (I reallllly took my time) paid off; no damage to the car, no broken clips). Aside from the indicator LED on the side of the console (the controller and LED panel are inside the console), the detector is invisible. Thanks again to everyone for their help.

 

I installed blackbox, which needs both the constant power and the accessory power. If i remember correctly, i tapped into the navigation unit (yellow wire) for accessory power. it's been over a month since the installation and haven't had any issues. passenger side fuse box.

 

I'm curious - what is the blackbox you refer to? Is it a performance (such as g-force) recorder?

hit and run, accidents, insurance scams, and theft. You also don't want valet guys to mess with your car. Sometimes works when you want to fight a traffic ticket.
