They have some now that actually have dual cameras. One faces the front and one faces the back. So you only have to mount one.

I feel naked driving without a dash cam, almost like as if I'm driving without insurance!

Here are some of my 'fun' moments.

and most recently...

Notice the billboard advertising for car accidents. The light was green for a solid four seconds or so. Had I gunned it at the light there would have been a collision.

I did not want to spend more than 150 on blackbox, so I stuck with 8gb model. With bigger memory, you could have a lot more video clips that go back in time. It is in continous loop so 8gb seems enough to cover couple of hours or more.

Regarding front & back camera, there are two kinds. One that actually has two cameras on one unit. This kind records full front view and mostly interior of the car. Why would anyone record the interior is beyond me. Another employees a separate remote camera that mounts on rear window. I would think it would be simply to run the cable along the headliner at the edge of doors, all the way to front.

From what I've researched, overheating is a common issue for a lot of blackbox cameras in general. So knowing the operating/standby temperature might be of interest.

Also the one I got occasionally acts weird during bootup when temperature drops very low. There were 3 times that I had to turn it off and back on. Not sure if it is common for this model or this make. But two other blackboxes (diff manufacturers) I've used did not suffer from similar issue.

Word of advice, *NEVER* admit to having a recording, EVER.

EVER.

They might try to confiscate the recording as evidence, and then it 'disappears'. Just don't.

Get the memory separate on Amazon will save some bucks! You'll have more video to go back if need.

32GB. Save the $$ for something else. Most dashcam accepted up to 32GB. Some Lukas up to 128GB but it overkill.
