Pay by the year and it is only $3 a month. No ads and better audio quality.

Even better! $36 a year is a great price for the variety and quality you get.

Let me guess...you have an unlimited data plan on your phone...
Otherwise, Pandora uses data, and it uses quite a bit of it if you use it for more than 15 minutes. Letting it run in the background doesn't change that - it continues to use data from whichever network you're connected to. In an hour, you'll probably have used about 150-300MB of data...

I think I do have unlimited data, but pandora does not use as much as you think. So far I've used 1.3GB of cellular data. Since I bought my phone. A little over a year ago. Pandora has used 483MB in that same time period.

In comparison, I've had Instagram for about 2 months now and already used 228 MB of data. I think even at a 2GB monthly plan you'll be fine...

Nope. Well, I suppose you can ASK for whatever you want, but the Customer Agreement is perfectly clear that auto renewal is ONLY avoidable if you CANCEL the service prior to the renewal action. Right here to read.
