Default Used F Sport

Sorry to hijack the thread... I am going to look at a used f-sport today in the Dallas area... it's starfire with the Cabernet interior... One of two color combos I was looking for... It' has 30k miles and is listed for 44,600ish... It looks to be in pristine condition... Where should I be able to negotiate the price down to... We bought my wife's rx from a Lexus dealer and I knew what I was getting but this is from a BMW dealer who prob took it as a trade in... Thanks in advance! Looking forward to be an active new member of this forum.

That's quite a few miles for a ~1 year old car. Probably mostly hwy miles, but still.

I'd use that argument and try to get it down closer to 40K even. I'd say most used car sales probably at least build in 5-6K of negotiating room.

Good luck to you & bigbwb in your search!

the F sport I am looking at has 22k miles and they are offering around $45k for it. Seems decent. I am hoping to find someone local soon who might be able to check it out first. I have money down on it refundable of course if it doesnt pan out.

I agree. $40,000 but if you like the car and it comes with new tires $41K would still be a decent deal. I wouldn't pay over $41K for it though and NO dealer fees (like the $599 fee).

Ok I was able to go look at the car at Lex of west Kendall and overall it looks good. The only cosmetic flaw on the exterior aside from very minor swirls is a small pencil eraser sized ding on the front right fender. On the interior, the driver aluminum trim has a good amount of dings on it as well as a sizable long dent on the aluminum trim between the cup holders and the gear selector. The trim where the moonroof controls has a very minor scratch. I'm going to upload the pics I took of it in a few.

Wow that was quick! Based on your pics and evaluation, this car seems like it may have been a bit neglected. My wife's 2008 Lexus has less cosmetic issues than this car. I think it's best I pass on this one, what do you think?

Thanks,
Brandon

Yea I happened to be down south today. As far as the car, the major cosmetic flaws for me are the 2 interior trim pieces. I would definitely urge for the dealer to replace them in goodwill. The ding is really small and could possibly be knocked out. The inner door handle areas could be buffed out and I'd probably have some 3M applied there. The car itself is actually in the showroom as their halo used car. After a good washing, detailing, and hopefully a few trim replacements, the car was in excellent condition.
