Hit or miss for me too! Ford took a hit with their poor integration on their iSync. Think Lexus is heading down the same path if they don't come up with a good fix soon. And they want us to pay for this crap?! And, I love Lexus...have owned 7 of them.

Lexus is not at fault here. Its the consumers with the phones that do not have the right specs and operating system. You must have the MAP bluetooth profile or otherwise it will not work for messaging and emails and also bluetooth profile 3.0 and greater. Update the software on the Android to 4.0 or the Iphone to IOS6 and everything will be fine. Stop blaming others for something you have that is not compatible properly. You can correct it by looking at the specs, software, etc. Thats how things are these days.

Enform and bluetooth work fine with my EVO 4G running Gingerbread. Unfortunately no 4.0 or MAP for an EVO 4G right now.

I have had similar problems connecting to Pandora with my Blackberry. It would seem to connect - I would get the display, but no sound. I was going to switch my phone to the iPhone thinking that it would work better, but from what I'm reading here, I might as well save my money.

I have no problem with iheart radio. It is Pandora that is the problem...if it loads, sometimes the favorites are missing.

On Monday I sent an email to Lexus, telling them all the problems I have connecting/staying connected/losing favorite stations/etc. with the Pandora enform app. (iheart is working). Have not heard back yet but, today, Pandora has worked like a charm! Wonder whether they pushed a new update to me (or to the user base)? Anyone notice any improvements? Is there a way to see what the latest version of enform is? (On the car, not the app on the phone). Thanks!

I swithched from a Samsung Infuse with ATT to Motorola Razr Max on Verizon. The Samsung was terrible, the Motorola works really well. Go figure.

I figured that since you knew so much, I would check with the Lexus Field Techicinal Specialist (FTS) again about these problems. He said that Lexus is aware of connectivity problems. The biggest problem is the differences on how each operating sustem accesses different parts of the programs. Lexus is working with the phone manufactures to ensure compatibility. The newer phones with the newer operating system and bluetooth versions are going to be focused on first. We checked software versions of my car, my enforme app, and my phone and I have the latest software on all. Also, we just bought a new F-Sport GS 350 and I had to do the software update for the car. I did it and still have some problems with the apps. (Esp. Pandora). I got the shop's test IPad, our technology specialist's iPhone 4S, and our shop forman's android phone and had similar problems with all of them. It's better now than before, but still not reliable. It works about 70% of the time, even outside with full service or inside connected to wi-fi. I have come to believe that it is working as well as it will for now. If it works, cool. If not, I'll listen to something else. But your probably right, it's something that every device, including Lexus' Ipad, has that's not compatible. I was just trying to blame someone else. You're so smart!

I posted on 8/1 where it seemed better...guess it was just an illusion! I am sick of this app and the lack of Lexus service. This is so in-Lexus like and can only hurt them in quality surveys. Yet, they still advertise this as a great new feature!

Default 2013 Lexus RX 450h

My HTC EVO 4G connects everytime. However, when I open Pandora to play it, the phone itself is the only thing playing and not through the car speakers. I must turn off bluetooth on the phone, disconnect the phone from the GPS screen, then reconnect phone on GPS, get Pandora started, wait until it starts playing through phone, press media button, and then go back to App and hope that it connects. This is everytime, but I've only had the car for 3 days now. I miss my MDX which just allowed me to start Pandora through the phone and press the Bluetooth Audio button and *BAM*! it played! Software in my phone is up to date, phone is rebooted daily, and bluetooth is constantly turned on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ;P

Cool Text reply FAIL

All of these things (except for the text messaging) I can usually get to work by retrying, or following various incantations. I think it's also true a lot of things depend on the phone or device you're using, so everyone gets slightly different results. I can understand someone with less patience who just expects things to work seamlessly and automatically would be very frustrated.

Personally, I'm encouraged that the capability is there and I can at least get it to work sometimes. When it works, it's very impressive. But then, I also like playing with buggy leading edge software. To me, much of these advanced capabilities seem like beta software. I have high hopes for it when Lexus hopefully refines it.

For what it's worth, when I was googling for solutions to the problems with some of these advanced features, it looks to me like a lot of cars with these kinds of features have the exact same kinds of problems, not just Lexus.
I have an iphone and i'm running into all the same problems, even considering canceling my pandora paid monthly since I really only got it to play in the car.
Also this text reply thing doesn't work at all and it's totally bumming me out. What a great thing to have if it worked.
Any way if it does start to work that we can edit to automated responses? I haven't looked hard enough because ci can't send anything out anyways.
Is it just an iphone problem?

Unhappy Pandora app problems

I have a 2013 rx350 with enform apps and have no problem with pandora , but when I want to switch back to music from my iPhone4s I cannot do this. The Bluetooth is connected but how do you turn off pandora ?
Another bad feature with enform is you have to open up app on your iPhone first before you can access these features! It will not synch up automatically from what I can tell!
Is there a way to turn enform apps on or off?
Also I think these apps will use up your data package!
How do you get voice recognition to play selected artist ?
I saw this command in the owners manual, but cannot find this command on my car ?
The dealership people don't seem to be very tech savvy , and are stumped by these tech issues !
Also the disabling of many functions while driving is absolutely nonsense !
If I can change radio and climate functions while driving then all other features should be allowed!
Anybody has any solutions to these issues please "enform me" !
Thanks,

Larryox

I have an iphone 5 and when I start Pandora it loads but doesn't play. No sound and won't play no matter what. The solution I've found that works every time is to first load iHeart radio. That works flawlessly. Then when I switch back to Pandora, voila! Sound and everything works fine. Pretty hokey, but when I want decent music, Pandora sound quality is much better than XM. You would think electronics would be better coming from the electronics capital of the world...
