I got it from the Motortrend website and the link that rogers2 provided confirms the EPA figures I initially posted. It IS 14/21 mpg for the CLS550 :

I didn't post the starting price, acceleration and skidpad figures since Batman had already done so 3 posts above my initial post. My intention was to complete the information he had provided.
Motor Trend was wrong. I've seen the actual window stickers on them. But I do recall the Motor Trend article now that you mention it, so I apologize for calling your out on it.

You guys have renewed my faith in clublexus. On many other sites, they would recommend the brand related to that forum without regard to which may be really better. With so many giving the nod to the CLS...for obvious reasons...it shows good common sense.

We still love our Lexus but a choice between the GS and CLS is a no brainer.

I like the looks of the CLS except for tail lights.

Congratz... What caused you to go Jag over the CLS? Post a pic when you get a chance. I actually like the Jag XJL.

Two things that make GS thumb down:
1) Exterior so boring (F Sport make it a little better not much)
2) Engine kill the car.

Drove the CLS last year and found it disappointing in look. It seems as if 3 designers came together and smashed different design elements together to make a hodge podge looking sedan. The pontoon fenders over the rear wheels makes the CLS hideous. No offense but the older one was better.

As for the ride and drive it was even worse. Too much body roll and numb on center steering makes this car look better then it drives but no where as good as the handling and ride balance of the GS F-Sport. The CLS feels front heavy and cannot tolerate big turns as well. The brakes are good and the acceleration are but the whole chassis is pathetic. The suspension gets confused over choppy pavements and makes the steering nervous too while the chassis cannot settle over certain roads as good as the GS or A6 or 5 series.

There is no offense because your opinion like anyone else on here is subjective. You don't like the CLS and the next guy does

I absolutely love the Jags and the XJL is sweet.
I don't love the Jag reliability history but definitely a sweet car.
Every time I see an XJ or XK my eyes are glued to it.
