Yeah i Have to agree. And yes i have a 3GS, so I'm biased, but not jealous that I cannot afford the new one. I just think the 3GS is a classic, timeless elegant shape that will really come into its own 20 years from now. I don't like it when car companies pander to the 'in your face, crank up the 'tude' crowd. The problem they were trying to solve is the 3GS didn't sell. The real problem is that people who buy this class of car have lousy instincts and taste, and end up buying a badge (BMW 5 series, Mercedes E Class). I like a classic, subtle car. Only the A6 really meets that design parameter now, and the latest horseshoe grill is threatening that standard.

headlights are not what they could have been. the 3 projecter beam look in the concept was way nicer.

interior is OK at best. why the shift boot? gated shifter would have been so much nicer and cleaner.

I guess I will be leaving the GS family for my next ride. Hello Porsche Panamera.

Lexus / Toyota....................BORING AND BLAND as ever.

the 3rd Gen GS was SH_T and the hope that 4th Gen would return to a game changer like the 2nd Gen Gs was, is now totally gone.

another thing, a GS-F with anything less than 500+ horsepower is a joke. if you want to compete w/ AMG and M, then you need to step your game up Lexus. Right now, you have no chance and more disappointment is in your future.

4th Gen GS --------------------------- HUGE LETDOWN.

Bad Lexus. Bad Lexus. Bad Lexus. Now go to your room, you're grounded for a month.

535i with options similar to loaded GS350 F-Sport is 80k.

I am pretty sure that GS350 F-Sport completely loaded will approach 70k or maybe even cross it.
Remember when the LS was launched in 1990 at $35000? New.

agreed.
i'm also still not sure if there's anything special about the main guages now too?

there was something about deep black gauges or something like that in JDM specs, not sure... honestly, i never thought 3GS gauges were that cool - you get used to it after a while and I barely noticed the metal plate behind the gauges anymore.

if it's competitive or better than the competition then sure.
my 2000 gs400 w nav in late '99 was 52k new although maybe that included sales tax.

I think it does look a little flat in these pics, but I also thought the same thing when I saw the 2IS and 3GS in pics, and later changed my opinion after seeing them in person. I feel like you can tell that in person, the creases, lines and shapes will take on a whole new meaning. We've all said that L-Finesse doesn't seem to photograph well, and I think this will be much the same story.

Very excited to see more pics and get specs on the engines.

I'll give you that, one must judge a car in person before making the final call. I just dont see how the grill is going to get any less awkward. It's like the guys who got fired at Acura for the current TL all got jobs at Lexus.

I love it when people blame the customers for not buying a product.

"Gee, when we designed and marketed the car we forgot to account for the fact that people wouldn't buy it because they have no taste..."

Heck, I just spit all over my keyboard laughing at my own joke.

4GS450h having extra 20hp is doable. 3GS450h is 340 hp, adding extra 20 hp gives you 360 hp. imho, the 4GS450h has to have at least what the infiniti M hybrid has (which is 360 hp) in order to remain competitive (hybrid hp wise).

For me the front end is fine, and I can pizazz it up with an aftermarket griille. The profile will look great with new shoes and a drop.

The rear is my biggest complaint. Like Henry, that exhaust is just not appealing to me (just too big and oblong...looks much better in the concept), and the two outer character lines lost in the translation from the concept to the 4GS just sucked all the rest of the style out of the rear, IMO. It's almost not even "fixable", but I guess it can be massaged with a sublte mod or two to blend in a tad better. Here's where I need the most out of the aftermarket companies, something creative, but not too dramatic for the rear.
