4GS mega thread (UPDATED; preview drives, specs, more interior pics)
I was kinda worried about this teaser after seeing the plain horizontal bars and the possibly body colored separator, but then I went back and looked at the photos from the numerous driving reviews from last week and saw immediately that this a base model GS250/350 with no F-Sport additions, which doesn't concern me because the only model I will consider buying is the GS-F. If you look at the review photos of the GS-450h, you'll see the lights are different and carry a 3 ring characteristic. Also, the grill has a black mesh design on the hybrid and different fog lights, which look loads better. Actually, I think whole front has a different body kit on it when it comes to the hybrid. It has protruding front that brings out, literally, the pinch design that is chrome outlined on the teaser. Unless you plan on getting the base 250/350, you probably won't have to deal with the plain front. For those who get the F-Sport, Hybrid, or *fingers crossed* GS-F, you'll be fine.
I'll try and dig up those pics.
EDIT- here they are. F-Sport does not have the Round fog lights.

Regular model/hybrid does have traditional round fogs

Overall the look is nice. but if this spindle type grill is going to be on all new Lexus models, then the family resemblance will be too much IMO. After you add that huge grill, there isnt much left you can do with the headlights so make the car look different
It is hilarious how we are all so desperately want to see the new GS, but the truth is it will just be a scaled up CT200h, it will look 95% identical, it is just the new corporate face
Even the hood line, windshield shape and side mirrors almost looks identical!

There are some similarities with the front end of the CT and GS...but also lots of differences.
That's like telling someone to look at the front of the 1 Series because that's what the next gen 5 series will look like.
Even with the similarities, there are plenty of differences.

Going from 2GS to 4GS, LS430 to LS460 and SC400 to SC430........that's what I call looking different.

I like today's pic. Car looks clean and symetrical. But as RSXF mentioned, Lexus now runs the risk of making all their models look too alike. Audi is partly facing this problem with their jumbo grille dominating the front ends. You can only change headlights around so much to add variety.
The GS is a lot more muscular than the CT (which I like) but the resemblance isn't anything more than what you expect from models of the same brand.
I do think that, all same generation C/E/S-Class, 3/5/7-series and A4/6/8 all looks identical, the only differences between them are size, power and refinement levels.

Mercedes differentiates their vehicles rather well.

Im seeing two different grill designs, 3 different headlight designs, and 2 different LED DRL designs,
