3IS Driver Seat in 4GS?

Hello there, I am new to Club Lexus and it's my first post!

I bought my 2015 GS350 base last year and drove more than 30k miles. I am 5'11 and have a slim figure. The base seats are too wide and flat for me, and seating position is too high. I have extreme left hip pain whenever I drive the GS for more than 0.5-1hr. I did not realize this until a few months in that I can never adjust the seat to where I want it to be, hence developing this crazy hip pain. Whenever I service it at dealer I ask the staff to help me adjust it too but no avail.

For reference, I have no issue driving all day long in ND Miata (they are very comfortable imo), Mazda 3, CT200h, 2IS (my old car for 2 years, no issue with seats), 4IS, Polestar 2, and I find IS seats and Volvo seats to be the most comfortable, my hip pain would immediately go away when I get into an IS or a Volvo. I want a seat that's low and more bolstered around the hip area. I also think the position of the dead paddle might be wrong for me in the base GS. I have similar issues with cars (especially SUVs) when the seating position is high.

Has anyone tried installing 3IS (2015) Base Driver (LHD) Seats in 4GS (2015)? Are there better options, or should I just sell the car? I saw a base (non f sport, light grey, perforated) IS250 seat for a good price that matches my interior color. I also saw 4gs f sport seats (2014s so auto heat/vent won't work? Not that I care but do I need to swap that button out?) but I don't even know if those will be comfortable for me (I test drove a fsport GS but had mechanical issues so I had to go with this base one I have, the fsport seats does seem softer to me but I don't know if bolstering is enough), and don't want to do a full interior swap since it's a different color. I can't find GS-F seats and they will probably be too expensive and requires a full interior swap. I don't think I want to put a recaro in but it may be easier at this point. I don't want to put any seat cushion/covers/add-ons.

Is it plug and play? How to get memory seat, easy exit, heated and ventilated work? I am assuming auto heat/vent won't work (do I need a new set of buttons?)? Are there modules I need to reuse from my original seat?

Any shops in California that specialize in this?

I apologize if there's something online but I can't find any guides. Thank you for any advice.

The controls on the base 350 are not the same as an Fsport where you have more control over the lumbars and cushions.

I would test out the Fsport seats somehow and see if it's better. If you have to sell the car just because you dislike the seats, its difficult to give any suggestions.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the seat comfort. I dont think i've seen anyone swap sets from a different model into the 4GS but I can't confirm for sure. Here is a helpful thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...uxury-mod.html

A few members have done the mod to swap out seats - but fellow member peasodos was one of the first to confirm the luxury pkg, semi-aniline 18-way adjustable seats were plug/play on his base 2013 450h hybrid which originally had only the 10way adjustable base seats as you'll read in that thread. The luxury package seats are the most comfortable in the GS with the most possible adjustments - if you try to switch out seats, i'd recommend trying to find a lux package 2015 driver seat. I'll comment on the seat swap between GS models:

From all the posts i've seen over the years, it appears a premium pkg GS to lux seat swap works without any additional modifications (10way to 18-way). However, it seems like a base/premium to F-Sport seat swap does not give all the additional adjustments (10way vs 16way F-Sport): https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post11141604

The worst outcome would be the harness is completely different and the seat doesn't wire-up. The second possibility is you'd get the seat but it would only adjust with the same 10way functions (not the additional 18way of the Lux seat) but the leather and the quality/comfort is going to be better with a lux seat.

I believe you're more likely to have success if you get the same model year seats...it might be really tough but if you have a 2015, try to find 2015 luxury package seats. I think Lexus made minor changes to auto cooled/heated features from 2013 vs 2014/2015.

Before swapping seats though, i'd try to visit a good local automotive upholstery/leather repair/interior specialist to see if they can add additional padding or make a recommendation. I recently had my premium pkg seat leather fixed and they added some new foam to the seat cushion as well as part of the leather fix. It actually feels and looks much better.

Thank you for your reply. I can't find the luxury seat anywhere (fb, ebay, CL) but will try to go that route

Not sure if you're open to junkyards but here is an 18way lux seat from a RWD 2015 in black: https://www.lkqonline.com/2015-lexus...m/-i~416604536

You can also have a shop reskin the seat/leather with replacement leather like these to match your interior: https://leather-auto-seats.com/shop/...e-bottom-gray/
