Bluetooth Phone Volume Too Low

In the past two weeks my phone call volume over the car’s Bluetooth connection has become much lower. It was always loud enough to talk on the phone in any condition. Now it’s so quiet that it can be difficult to hear on 35mph roads, and no chance on the highway. I used to keep it around 80-90% of max volume when I was on calls. Now I can turn it to MAX and it’s still very difficult to hear the call.

Also noticed that when I adjust the volume it doesn’t really go up and down like it used to in increments of 4, unless I click the Lexus on screen +/-. It used to adjust in increments of 4 with the steering wheel controls.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m wondering if it’s due to a phone firmware update. I have an iPhone 16 on 18.3.2. Car is a 2017.

Thanks

I'm not sure how it is on iPhones. On Android, I have am app call "Bluetooth Volume Manager". It'll adjust volume depending on which BT device is connected. So it'll go all the way up when connecting to the GS then revert to lower level when hooking up to headphones.

Maybe try some of these, specifically the headphone max volume and setting it higher?

Boy, do I feel stupid. I have owned a GS since 2015 and have never needed to adjust the phone volume while in a Bluetooth call, but that’s all it took here. I had already dug through all the Lexus menus and tried a bunch of different settings, but all I needed to do was adjust my phone volume during the call.

Just needed you to nudge me in the right direction, @EAST . Thank you!!
