Lightbulb Reminder - Daylight Saving Time Clock Adjustment

Daylight Saving Time officially starts tomorrow (Sunday morning) in most areas of the U.S. (except Hawaii and Arizona).

For those with early model 4GSs - 2013, 2014 and (I think) 2015 model year GSs - don't forget that you have two (2) changes to make to your Lexus - (1) manually setting the Lexus analog dash clock ahead (forward) one hour, and (2) turning 'On' the DST for the Navigation system.

In the past, many owners with early model year 4GSs were unaware that the Navigation system did not automatically change to and from, DST.

Note: For late model Lexus 4GSs - setting the NAV system to DST automatically adjusts the analog dash clock.

For early model Lexus 4GSs:

(1) Manually change your Lexus analog dash clock by setting the time ahead (forward) one hour.

(2) Turn 'On' the DST for the Navigation system. To turn 'On' DST in the NAV system, go to Menu > Setup > General > System Time > Daylight Saving Time > On > Save or OK

With the correct time setup for your car's General System Time - it allows the Navigation system to provide an accurate 'Estimated Arrival Time' to your destination...

Note: This 'On' and 'Off' Daylight Saving Time change is made in the General setup - not the Navigation setup.

Hope you don't mind losing an hour of sleep!

Drove to and from work today and did not even look at the clock... just the ETA on Waze. But thanks for the reminder, heading to the garage right now to do that, and fill up the windshield washer reservoir. Got that warning message for the first time ever.

I have more than a dozen different time pieces I change each time DST starts or ends, with half a dozen other things automatically updating.

Well, don't test the windshield washer after filling it up or you'll just mess up your spotless windshield...

I never changed my clock in the fall. So now I'm back to DST. LOL
