Smile Brake Pad Options

Hi all,

I have a 2017 GS350 Lux package (non-F Sport). Have about 6mm left on the front pads, so I'm looking around for replacements. I wouldn't mind better braking performance, even if that means slightly more dust. I don't mind spending a a little bit more than OEM, so is there any consensus to the best- better than OEM pads?

Thanks!

I'd stick with OEM:

@jgscott will likely say Akebono coupled with StopTech Rotors if you want to go aftermarket with good quality and better bite

These are like some of the best you can get for Performance stopping power and bite.

Ill second the Akebono's. I always ran OEM and changed to these. Lest dust and same performance to me.

Isn’t 6mm somewhere near half?

I fully planned on Akebono like I put on my MDX, but I scored a Powerstop kit front/rear with their pads included, and on a whim tried them out. Now I've only got 2k on them but they are *quite good* so far. Strong bite on anything more than a cold rotor, dust seems ok, and dead-silent, which is more than I can say for what I took off right after I bought the car used.

Powerstop Evolution w/ geomet coated rotors all around. Solid performer, especially for the price IMO. So far.
