Maybe a stupid question, but a question nonetheless I can't seem to find an answer for. I recently got a Lexus gs300h f sport 2016 model. I noticed that the drl won't turn on when I switch the light setting from auto to the first option (parking). It only comes on in the second option with the triple leds. In auto mode, during the day the drl does come on without the triple leds. So my question is, how can I turn the drls on without turning the triple leds on?
I'm not 100% on the settings on a 2016+ GS models (I have a 2013)...but to you have this setting anywhere:
The reference in the owners manual for the 2016 is to turn the headlamp switch to the "0" or "AUTO" position:
In Auto-mode, the sensors determine the level of darkness and maintain the DRL only on if its bright enough outside....and will only turn on the headlamps w/DRL if its dark enough. Not sure if there are different settings available for non US spec vehicles...
On my headlight selector, it has
-OFF (DRL off)
-AUTO
-Parking lights
-Headlights ON
While in Parking lights mode, with the car off, my DRLs are on. If I open the door with the parking lights on, the lights turn off, and I have to switch them to off and back to parking to get them to turn on again (and I get a warning my lights are on).
Interesting, seems some things are different. While in auto mode, the drl is always on (night or day doesn't make a difference). If I switch to parking's lights the drl turns off, even at night and only comes on if I switch the headlights on also.
And I don't have the same settings in that window you showed, see attached picture.
